MIA: four suspected militants' helpers detained in Chechnya within last 24 hours
Four local residents suspected of complicity to members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) have been detained in the territory of Chechnya during the last 24 hours, on August, 2-3, as reported by law enforcement bodies of the republic.
According to the latter, the detainees are accused of helping the rebels from the groups of field commanders Gakaev and Muntsigov.
The Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has also reported that the detentions of suspected helpers were undertaken in the Vedeno, Shali and Grozny Districts of Chechnya.
"Two bandit helpers, who supplied, from last spring to autumn, with foodstuffs and clothes the members of the rebel group commanded by Usman Muntsigov, also known as 'Shatral', were detained in the mountain settlement of Dargo, Vedeno District," the MIA of Chechnya reports.
Another potential helper of Shatral's grouping was detained, as stated by the MIA, in the village of Berkat-Yurt, Grozny District.
"The fourth detainee - resident of Elistanzhi village in the Shali District, next to the Vedeno one, is suspected of helping, from September to November 2007, the members of the gang commanded by Hussein Gakaev, who originates from the same village," a militia officer said.
