Abkhazia seeks defence of international community against "Georgia-originating terrorism"

Abkhazia is addressing the G8, the UN Security Council, the OSCE and the Group of Friends of the UN Secretary General with an appeal "to take adequate measures for suppressing the threat of terrorism originating from Georgia, since ignoring of such serious provocations can lead to irreversible escalation of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict."

This is the topic of the Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, disseminated today in connection with the terror act in the city of Gal, as a result of which four residents of Abkhazia perished, and six more were wounded.

The Abkhazian foreign policy agency is perplexed with the position of international community, which, as the MIA asserts, "fails to give an objective estimate of Georgia's actions, but supports frequently engaged and biased resolutions and declarations, which distort the facts and situation in the region, strenuously arming Georgia and shutting eyes to obvious violations of human rights in Georgia and policy of terror against Abkhazia and South Ossetia."
