Khamzat Kadyrov confirms drone attack on Chechnya
Secretary of the Chechen Security Council Khamzat Kadyrov has posted on a social networking service a video of the destruction of a drone. The Chechen official has also added that all the drones launched today to attack the republic had been shot down.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on December 15, three drones attacked Grozny. Two of them were shot down, the third flew to the territory of the OMON (riot police) Department of the “Rosgvardiya” (National Guard of Russia). On December 25, sources reported about a series of explosions in Grozny as a result of a drone attack.
On October 29, 2024, the territory of Chechnya was attacked by a drone for the first time since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine. By December 15, Chechnya had been attacked by drones four times. All drone strikes in Chechnya hit buildings associated with the training of fighters for deployment to the special military operation zone (SMO).
Secretary of the Chechen Security Council Khamzat Kadyrov confirmed on Instagram* that drones attacked Chechnya in the morning.
“The information that drones hit some facility is not true, as everything was shot down!" Khamzat Kadyrov wrote in the stories posted on his Instagram* account bugor_jr.
Thus, the drone attack on December 25 became the fifth against facilities in Chechnya since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine.
On December 15, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed on his Telegram channel the fourth drone attack on the territory of Chechnya.
*On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
