In Georgia the court partially accepts the claim of the "Imedi" TV Company against the Commission for Telecommunications

On December 14, in Georgia, the board for administrative cases of the Tbilisi City Court accepted, on partial terms, for proceedings the claim lodged by the "Imedi" TV Company against the National Commission for Telecommunications. This information was disseminated by the press service of the Tbilisi City Court.

The suit concerns the administratively-legal acts of the National Commission for Telecommunications of Georgia in relation to the "TeleImedi" Limited Liability Company (LLC). On November 7, the National Commission adopted an act about a warning and imposition of a fine on the TV Company, and on November 8 - another act on temporary suspension of the broadcasting license, the IA "News-Georgia" informs.

The Court has recognized the fact that on December 4 the National Commission partially admitted its acts to be invalid. The act of November 7 regarding the fine and the complete act of November 8 were announced to be invalidated. The "TeleImedi" had paid no fine; accordingly, it had suffered no material damage.

Outgoing from these facts, the Court has accepted to proceedings the claim of the "TeleImedi" regarding the warning and temporary suspension of the broadcasting license. The consideration of the case on the merits was appointed on January 16.
