Radchenko will not head DFTS of Dagestan

The newly-appointed head of the Department of the Federal Tax Service (DFTS) of Russia for Dagestan Vladimir Radchenko will not hold this post. It was stated by a "Caucasian Knot" source, who preferred to remain anonymous.

The source said that today during the meeting of President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev three candidates to the position of the Republic's tax service were announced. Among them, the most probable candidate - head of the inter-district tax inspection of Derbent and Derbent Region Ramazan Ramazanov, and Mayor of Derbent Felix Kaziakhmedov. There is no information about the third candidate.

Appointment of Radchenko as the head the local tax agency has heated up the political situation in Dagestan. Some of local experts believe that Radchenko is a protege of Suleiman Kerimov, one of the richest people on the planet, Senator from Dagestan and a native of the Republic, Lezgin by nationality, who is cooperating in this issue with Avar Magomed Gadzhiev, Deputy of Russian State Duma from Dagestan.

According to the source of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, not only the Lezgin, but also the Avar power elite, represented by Adam Amiraliev, Russian State Duma Deputy, Saigitpashi Umakhanov, Mayor of Khasavyurt, and Gadzhi Makhachev, Dagestan representative at the President of Russia, spoke against appointment of Radchenko.

In his turn, Mr Radchenko has openly stated that Gadzhimurad Aliev, son of the President of Dagestan, one of the deputies of the head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for Dagestan prevents him from taking the position.
Local politicians and experts assert that this is one of manifestations of the start of the pre-election campaign.
