Clashes with police occur near the Georgian Parliament

Several protesters, including Elene Khoshtariya, the leader of the “Droa” Party, were detained near the Georgian Parliament on the 121st day of pro-European protests.

According to the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on information in Georgian media, protests are held in Rustaveli Avenue every day. It has been closed every day since the beginning of protests in Georgia against the results of the parliamentary elections.

The police has detained the above Ms Khoshtariya and several other citizens at a protest action held near the Georgian Parliament, the "News Georgia" Agency has reported.

Despite the police’s resistance, the pro-European protesters have blocked Rustaveli Avenue. A standoff took place between the protesters and the police; and law enforcers detained several protesters, the “Interpressnews” reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 486 people were detained during the protests in Georgia, and 1084 people were subjected to administrative prosecution in total.
