Attack on DPS checkpoint in Achkhoi-Martan in Chechnya becomes at least second armed incident within six months
The attack on a road-and-patrol police service (known as DPS) checkpoint in the centre of Achkhoi-Martan was preceded by an attack on a service car of the “Rosgvardiya” (National Guard of Russia) in the Grozny District in October.
Sources reported that an unidentified person with a knife attacked the DPS checkpoint in Achkhoi-Martan. The attacker was killed, and several law enforcers were wounded.
According to the information of the “Caucasian Knot”, based on its own materials and information from open sources, the attack has become at least the second armed incident in Chechnya within the recent six months.
The previous attack on law enforcers in Chechnya was the shelling of a “Rosgvardiya” service car in the village of Petropavlovskaya in the Grozny District on October 24, 2024. One law enforcer was killed and another was wounded in the mentioned incident.
The previous armed incident was an attack on a policeman in the village of Stary Achkhoi in the Achkhoi-Martan District on February 14, 2024.
