Volgograd blogger Prokudin sentenced to term of imprisonment in penal colony

A court sentenced Pavel Prokudin, a blogger from Volgograd, to 2.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony, finding him guilty of insulting the feelings of believers and inciting hatred towards the Russian Armed Forces.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 24, in Volgograd, a court took into custody Pavel Prokudin, charged under the article on inciting hatred and enmity towards the Russian militaries.

On April 19, it became known that Pavel Prokudin, who spoke during the video broadcast about participants of the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, became involved in a criminal case as a suspect. On April 22, the blogger was detained. During the detention, Pavel Prokudin asked for forgiveness and said that he was in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

According to the court’s information, during the video broadcast, Pavel Prokudin “expressed a negative assessment using foul language” regarding God, as well as a “negative assessment” of believers.

In addition, the defendant “in a rude abusive manner” gave a “negative assessment” of the Russian militaries. In court, Pavel Prokudin admitted his guilt and “repented of his actions.”

Let us remind you that on May 19, Pavel Prokudin was charged under the administrative article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. In June, the court fined him under administrative articles on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces and petty hooliganism.
