Contract soldier convicted in Rostov-on-Don for evading service
A court in Rostov-on-Don has sentenced Sergey Zaitsev, a military contractor, to 5.5 years in prison, finding him guilty of leaving his military unit without permission.
According to investigators, in June 2022, Zaitsev left his place of service, and in December 2022, he himself came to the military investigating division. Part of the time he was absent from service occurred during the mobilization period.
Zaitsev has appealed the verdict at the Southern District Military Court, but it upheld the earlier verdict, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that a court in Rostov-on-Don had sentenced Nazariy Sidelnikov, a mobilized person, to 5.5 years in penal colony, finding him guilty of leaving his military unit without permission.
