Georgia: trial on Mukhrovani revolt postponed till September 1
The trial of the defendants in the case on the military revolt in Mukhrovani has been postponed from the earlier appointed August 21 to September 1.
The reason of postponement of the judicial session was in the fact that as of August 21, 6 out of 41 defendants had no advocates; therefore, the judge had appointed the state (free) advocates to them.
In the course of the court session the advocates asked to postpone the trial till September 5 or 10, for them to have time to get acquainted with the details of the case. The judge has rejected this appeal and appointed the session on September 1, as reported by the GHN.
Under the advocates' statement, the investigation had been held very quickly; and many of them were unaware with the materials of the case, the "News Georgia" reports.
In total, 41 defendants are figuring in the case; they are defended by 69 advocates. The advocate Keti Becauri told journalists that the indictment contains 90 pages; most of them refer to Koba Kobaladze, former commander of the National Guard.
