Nagorno-Karabakh is ready to remove snipers from forefront

General-Lieutenant Movses Akopyan, Minister of Defence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), has stated to journalists that the Karabakh party is ready to remove snipers from the forefront. The Minister has emphasized that Azerbaijan is against removal of snipers.

According to Mr Akopyan, a corresponding agreement was even reached to this end; however, at the last minute it was broken by the Azerbaijani party.

He has also added that nobody ever demanded from Nagorno-Karabakh to return territories; and today Karabakh is not going to return anything to anybody.

When asked about any disagreements between the authorities of Armenia and NKR concerning approaches to settling the Karabakh conflict, Movses Akopyan said that as Stepanakert is not a party in negotiations, it cannot have any disagreements or contradictions with the parties in the process.
