Co-chairs of the Minsk OSCE Group to negotiate in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh

The visit to the region of the Karabakh conflict of co-chairs of the Minsk OSCE Group Yuri Merzlyakov, Bernard Fussier and Matthew Brayza will continue, after their meetings in Baku, with negotiations in Yerevan and Stepanakert.

On the eve of the visit, the OSCE mission had monitored the contact line of the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan near the Goradiz settlement of the Fizulin District.

According to the Karabakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the very start of monitoring a single shot was made from the Azerbaijani side in direction of the OSCE observers, who were watching the scene from the position of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh. Then, a submachine gun burst was made from the Azerbaijani side, which passed a little bit to the left from the observation group, and, finally, another single shot was made in direction of the mission. Andrzej Kaspshik, personal representative of the OSCE Chairman, who headed the observation group from the territory of Azerbaijan, ordered to stop the monitoring.

In its turn, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has accused "the Armenian forces" of disrupting the monitoring.
