Abkhazia invited to Geneva consultations on safety in the Caucasus

The delegation of Abkhazia will take part in consultations in Geneva on safety issues in the Caucasus. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent learnt about it from Sergey Shamba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia. As he said, an official invitation to Geneva to take part in the debates as a party of the process was presented today to Sukhumi.

Mr Shamba said that the delegation to Geneva will include Maxim Gvindzhiya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vyacheslav Chirikba, adviser of the President of Abkhazia on Foreign Policy, and Zeki Kapba, member of the executive committee of the International Association of Abkhazian-Abasin People.

Since Georgia sends its deputy minister of foreign affairs to Geneva, Abkhazia will be represented at the same level.

After Sukhumi, the delegation of special representatives made its way to Tskhinvali, where arrangements were made on participation of South Ossetia in the Geneva discussions.
