Complaint about beating of deputy chair of alternative parliament of Ingushetia sent to North Ossetia

The application lodged by Ahmed Kotiev, deputy chair of the alternative parliament called "National Assembly of Ingushetia", to the GOVD (City Militia Unit) of Nazran, was delivered to law enforcement bodies of the city of Mozdok, North Ossetia, for further consideration and investigation. Ahmed Kotiev told about it to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

On October 27, 2008, Ahmed Kotiev was attacked and beaten on the border of Ingushetia, North Ossetia and Kabardino-Balkaria by the militaries, sent from city of Astrakhan and carrying their service at Check Point No. 9.

"I've no answer to my application so far. I don't think that these beatings were occasional. Sure, they weren't. But they also have nothing to do with the previous attempt on me on October 6, when my car was shelled by unknown persons. They've openly threatened me with physical execution. Recently I was visited by representatives of local authorities and law enforcement bodies, who openly threatened and demanded that I stop my activities in the alternative parliament," Ahmed Kotiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Also, according to Mr Kotiev, all the members of the alternative parliament are exposed to prosecutions, in particular, their mobile and fixed telephones are tapped; they are chased, including chasing by agents in cars.
