In Kabardino-Balkaria, court on the case about attack on Nalchik will continue selecting jurymen

The Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria has rejected the petition of the prosecution asking to change the territorial jurisdiction of the criminal case on the events on October 13, 2005. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by advocate Elizabeth Shak.

At the previous court session, the accusation moved a petition to change the territorial jurisdiction of the criminal case. The party justified its position by the fact that in Kabardino-Balkaria it is impossible to form a panel of jurymen.

"The next judicial session was appointed on October 24. The remaining candidates for jurymen who had failed to appear at previous sessions will be invited," said Ms Shak.

We remind you that a total of 1250 persons had been summoned to judicial hearings as candidates for jurymen, but only 390 of them appeared.

It was announced earlier that the process of recruiting the jurymen on the case on the events on October 13, 2005, started back this March. Three rounds were held, and finally 13 jurymen were recruited. Meanwhile, in the opinion of certain participants of the process, it promises to last quite long, and substitutes are needed, at least 21 jurymen in total.
