Over 400 persons registered as missing in South Ossetia
At least 400 persons are still regarded missing in South Ossetia, and there is no information about them. In his conversation with journalists, David Sanakoev, Ombudsman in South Ossetia, said that the Georgian party denies that there are women and children among their detainees.
To the question of one of the journalists about the fate of those residents of South Ossetia who happened to be, during the conflict aggravation, in the territory of Georgia, the South-Ossetian Ombudsman answered: "I know for sure that six person are in the territory of Georgia. For the last time people saw them together with the advancing Georgian army, they were in those places where battles took place."
Mr Sanakoev said that there are evidences that when Georgian militaries captured villages of the Zanur District, they severely executed not only Ossetians but also local Georgian population.
Despite these facts, David Sanakoev has assured that South Ossetia will not prevent ethnic Georgians from coming back to the territory of the Republic.
According to his version, many Ossetians are now in the territory of Georgia and want to get out of there, but some of them have already returned to South Ossetia. The told the Ombudsman that they fear for their life and for the life of their relatives, since they constantly receive threats from law enforcement bodies of Georgia.
