Investigation underway in Chechnya into circumstance of explosion at parliament building

The law enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic continue to study the circumstances of the incident in Grozny, when as a result of an explosion at the building of the parliament two persons suffered. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya.

According to the militiamen, now the life of the local residents wounded at the explosion is out of danger.

"A criminal case was initiated on the fact of blowing up of an unidentified explosive near the building of Republic's Parliament, which took place in the afternoon on July 12. Several versions of the incident, including an attempt of a terror act, are now examined," a militia officer said.

According to his story, a land mine was planted in one of garbage bins installed near the check point located close to the entrance into the building of the parliament.

"As a result of the explosion, two occasional passers-by were wounded: a boy of 12 and a young man of 17. Measures are taken to identify and detain the persons involved in committing this crime," said the officer.
