In Georgia, oppositionists frighten authorities with national revolt

According to Giya Tortladze, one of the leaders of the United Opposition, should the total of the Central Electoral Commission on the outcomes of the parliamentary elections be the same as the results of the exit polls, "the authorities will surely have a nationwide uprising." Mr Tortladze made this statement late at night yesterday, on May 21.

He treated the exit polls to be "an obvious evidence of falsified elections." As he said, "the authorities will fall victim" to these exit polls.

According to the data of the opposition itself, based on the protocols from polling stations, the Opposition Block is in the lead in the elections with over 33 percent of total votes. The ruling party - the "United National Movement" - is runner up with 30.2 percent of votes.

We remind you that voters' polling was held by the Estonian analytical group named "Jaan Tonosson Institute".
