In Azerbaijan, unknown persons put oppositionist's car on fire

Today at night, unknown persons set a car model VAZ-2107 belonging to military journalist Uzeir Dzhafarov on fire.

Mr Dzhafarov himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that despite the fact that the arson was made from the side of the petrol tank in hope to cause an explosion, nevertheless, no explosion followed.

After the incident, the journalist called the police, and the arriving operative group detected fragments of a plastic bottle on the scene of the crime.

Uzeir Dzhafarov is sure that this is another provocation connected with his professional journalistic activities. Earlier, he spoke at the roundtable, dedicated to the anniversary of arrest of journalist Einullah Fatullaev and beating of Dzhafarov himself.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Uzeir Dzhafarov, editor of the "Gyundelik Azerbaijan" newspaper, was attacked by unknown persons on April 20, 2007 and received serious physical injuries. One of the attackers was a police servant.
