Azerbaijan: arrested journalist starts protest hunger strike

Journalist Einullah Fatullaev, who is kept in Colony No. 12, started his hunger strike with a demand to release other journalists arrested in Azerbaijan.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety (IRFS) that the journalist demands, apart from his own unconditional release, also to free the editor-in-chief of the "Azadlyg" newspaper Ganimat Zakhid and poet-satirist Mirza Sakit, asking international organizations not to remain indifferent to the problems of mass media.

In their turn, the Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan neither rejected nor confirmed this information.
