Oppositionists demand release Ter-Petrosyan's supporters in the capital of Armenia

Now, the march of several tens thousand persons along the streets of Yerevan is over. First the march made its way to the building of the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Armenia, where the protesters put forward the demand to release all illegally, in their opinion, detained supporters of Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that well before the participants of the march had approached the building of the prosecutor's office, special police detachments armed with truncheons were already deployed there.

However, no incidents took place at the building of the prosecutor's office, as veterans of the Karabakh war, in particular, members of the "Union of Erkrap Volunteers" that unites several thousands of war veterans, stood in a line between the policemen armed with truncheons and glass shields and the participants of the march, ready to receive the first blow.

Today in Yerevan, at the rally of the opposition, Arman Navasardyan, today's Plenipotentiary Ambassador and former Ambassador of Armenia to Austria, has stated that Armenia needs Levon Ter-Petrosyan as its President: "People have elected Ter-Petrosyan and the people's choice is sacred."

Let us note here that starting February 21 permanent protest actions began in Yerevan in the Freedom Square with a demand to hold a new presidential election. The Square is also the venue of a sit-down strike, in which some 80-100 persons take part.
