European Court for Human Rights accepts documents of the "Voice of Beslan" Committee

The Strasbourg Court has notified the "Voice of Beslan" Public Committee about receipt of the documents evidencing violations of the rights of those who suffered in the Beslan terror act.

Ella Kesaeva, chair of the "Voice of Beslan", explains that a 43 kilo package of documents contains "hundreds of evidences of Beslan residents" and depositions of former hostages, "which they gave specially for the European Court for Human Rights."

"We've also gathered documents of the courts of all instances that we have passed through since 2005," Ella Kesaeva said. According to her story, the "Voice of Beslan" Committee complains to the European Court against the Russian state, which, in their opinion, failed to protect its citizens from the terror act, and against breaching the right of terror victims to objective investigation. This is the topic of today's RIA "Novosti" report.

"We hope that our case will be considered by the Court for Human Rights within 18 months, the chair of the "Voice of Beslan" has added.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on June 26 relatives of Beslan terror act casualties applied for help to the European Court. The applications were signed by 89 persons. Ella Kesaeva asserts that the "Voice of Beslan" has passed through all judicial instances of North Ossetia, therefore, in search of the truth, they applied to the European Court asking to conduct an objective investigation into all the circumstances of school capture by terrorists.
