Court of North Ossetia stops the "Voice of Beslan" in its present composition

The Leninskiy District Court of Vladikavkaz has passed a decision to stop the activities of the Public Organization (PO) "Voice of Beslan" in its present composition, the "Echo Moskvy" Radio reports. Ella Kesaeva, Chair of the "Voice of Beslan," said that she was confident that the decision was illegitimate and the court was non-objective. Ms Kesaeva has noted that the present members of the organization intend to appeal against the decision of the Leninskiy District Court.

The statement of the public organization that may be found in its web site runs that the decision was passed on August 24 on the basis of forged minutes of the meeting on re-election of the current membership of the organization that was presented to the court. The court has obliged the Department of the Federal Registration Service for the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania (RNO-A) to register the new composition of the PO "Voice of Beslan."

"To make the passage of this decision possible, they've engaged a group of former members of the organization who had been excluded 1.5 year ago for discrediting and an attempt to ruin our organization. The process was customized, we've been expecting this sort of outcome for a long time, however, we are just shocked by the complete lawlessness that we faced at the trial," the statement runs. It also notes that the Judge refused to give the floor to the witnesses who had appeared at the courtroom and rejected the documents that confirmed the falsification. The floor was not given even to the witnesses who asserted that their signatures had been forged.

In the opinion of Ella Kesaeva, who has signed the statement, during almost two years after the official registration of the "Voice of Beslan" the organization has experienced a permanent pressure from special agencies and local authorities.
