Case of the commander of "Vostok" battalion deployed in Chechnya "East" closed

It has become known that the Office of Public Prosecutor of the Leningrad Regional Military Command has stopped "because of reconciliation of the parties" the criminal case against Hero of Russia Sulim Yamadaev, commander of the "Vostok" (East) battalion deployed in Chechnya, and his subordinates, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports with a reference to "Kommersant."

The NEWSru.com reminds that on September 15, 2006, officers Taisumov and Ustarkhanov arrived to the "Samson." The officers of the "Vostok" went to the office of Director N. Arsamakov, where, threatening him with their arms, they disconnected the communication means and checked for the presence of recording devices, thus, actually having started a search. Later, Mr. Yamadaev with his guards arrived to the enterprise. According to Mr. Arsamakov's evidence, the "Vostok" commander started to intimidate him, and officers Taisumov and Ustarkhanov began to beat him. Besides, officers Taisumov and Ustarkhanov are suspected of stealing personal property of Khamzat Arsamakov.
