Ministry of Justice to study violations of rights of Georgia natives

The Russian Ministry of Justice intends to consider an application of the Georgian party on infringements of the rights of Georgian citizens in the process of detainment and deportation from the territory of Russia, Vladimir Ustinov, Minister of Justice of Russia, informed. "The Minister of Justice of Georgia has raised an issue of infringements of the rights of Georgian citizens in the course of their detention and deportation from the territory of our country. The issue was addressed exclusively to me, and was not discussed in the general agenda of the Conference (on improvement of European cooperation in the criminal-legal sphere)," Mr. Ustinov explained.

Mr. Minister of Justice noted that when the application would be duly presented, the Russian party would surely consider it, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

It was reported earlier that according to the Embassy of Georgia in Moscow, a total of 2681 citizens of Georgia were deported from Russia under court judgements, and 1194 Georgians more "were forced to leave the country without any court judgements."
