In Georgia, opposition sets up a group for everyday contacts with diplomatic corps

In Georgia, the opposition has set up a special group, which will have everyday contacts with the diplomatic corps - embassies and the international organizations.

As reported by David Gamkrelidze, leader of the "New Right-Wingers", to the rally held in front of the Parliament, this group will include Kakha Kukava, Nino Burdzhanadze, Irakliy Alasaniya and Salome Zurabishvili. In the everyday mode, they will present information to embassies on what happens in Rustaveli Avenue, in Tbilisi and in Georgia as a whole.

The "Trend" Agency reports that the decision to set up the above group was made after on April 25 Eric Fournier, Ambassador of France to Georgia, expressed his indignation with the fact that the opposition prevents the work of the Parliament.

According to Mr Gamkrelidze, the authorities provide false information to international organizations; and this was the reason for setting up a group for contacts with the diplomatic corps. Besides, a board is now created by the opposition and NGOs in charge of joint decisions, as the "InterpressNews" reports.

Chairman of Georgian Parliament David Bakradze, in his turn, said that "today, the authorities of the country have to withstand much of what many other democratic governments would not do, but the authorities do it for the sake of democracy and political pluralism."

Mr Bakradze has noted that the population should see everything with their own eyes, without any restrictions, and make their own conclusions. According to his story, he will try to give all the detailed and exhaustive information about the situation to the ambassadors.

Let us remind you that on April 24, Georgia's MIA disseminated its operative video showing how members of the opposition are giving baseball clubs to participants of protest action. However, according to one of leaders of opposition and ex-speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Nino Burdzhanadze, the MIA has mixed clubs with flagpoles.
