Evkurov promised to supervise search of Gapur Tankiev kidnapped in Ingushetia

During his meeting with relatives of Gapur Tankiev, a resident of the city of Malgobek who was kidnapped on April 3, President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov promised to personally supervise the course of investigation. Until now, nothing is known about Gapur's whereabouts.

Gapur's relatives have informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia did not refute the information about power agents' involvement in the kidnapping, but said that they had no proofs of their guilt.

On April 6, President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov held a meeting with relatives of the kidnapped person, which lasted for more than three hours. Same as MIA officials, Yunus-Bek Evkurov remarked that the militia had no sufficient grounds for further inquiry in relation to the FSB agents, who had been detained by Tankiev's relatives after kidnapping.

"The President confirmed his readiness to support us in our search in every possible way. In particular, by inviting journalists, who can help in covering the course of events. He also promised to personally supervise the progress in our case. Also, he recommended a good lawyer," Timur Tankiev, Gapur's brother, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

We remind you that earlier, Tankiev's relatives managed to detain the supposed kidnappers, who happened to be FSB agents. They were delivered to Malgobek ROVD, from where they were released in spite of relatives' discontent. Timur Tankiev has added that the relatives also brought witnesses to the militia who recognized the car of the kidnappers and their driver.

The victim's relatives could not believe that the observation video cameras of the Department of FSB (DFSB) in Malgobek had failed to fix the fact of kidnapping. "My brother was kidnapped right opposite the DFSB building, and they should have shot it. However, the DFSB asserts that at that moment that had a break in electricity supply. Surely, they have an independent power generator. The agents whom we detained had no documents. We've no doubt that they have kidnapped my brother. At least 20 persons became eyewitnesses of the incident. Many of them are just scared to evidence, because they can disappear in the same way," Timur Tankiev said.

He also said that they had detected a listening device (a tap) in the doorway of the house where the Tankiev family live. "The detained agents were shadowing our house. Could usual kidnappers have a professional listening device?" asked the victim's brother.
