Four suspects of preparing terror act killed in central Makhachkala

Today in Makhachkala special agents have shelled a car with, presumably, members of a subversive and terrorist group inside, who refused to surrender and opened fire on militiamen.

"The FSB Department received operative information that members of a subversive and terrorist group are in the city preparing a terror act. The undertaken measures allowed to identify the car model VAZ-2106 used by the suspects. At an attempt to stop and examine the car, its passengers opened fire on militiamen and FSB agents. As a result of the skirmish four suspects were killed," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the PR group of the FSB Department.

In the skirmish an occasional passer-by was wounded and later hospitalized.

As of 9:00 p.m., as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the place of the incident, the traffic is restricted in the area, causing difficulties for residents who cannot get home, and an operative-inquiry group is examining the site.
