In Chechnya, clash of power agents with militants results in casualties

According to the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), on February 9, in the Vedeno District, a group of militants of some 30 strong was revealed. In the course of engagement, three militiamen were wounded; one of them later died in hospital.

According to the MIA, the group of militants was found as a result of operative-search actions in a forest near Dargo dwelling settlement, Vedeno District, as the "Interfax" reports.

The ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya that the group of 30 militants is commanded by Usman Muntsigov, 33, a native of Dargo, who is in the federal search.

At examination of the place of the incident, a body of a supposed militant was found, his person is now established. Most likely, as law enforcers assert, the militants had more casualties, as traces were detected that the casualties or wounded militants were dragged away from the venue, there are indications of blood and dressings.
