Pupils of boarding school in Kabardino-Balkaria appeal for help to human rights activists
Ten former pupils of the boarding school located in Nartan village of Kabardino-Balkaria, where the prosecutor's office had revealed roughest violations of the legislation on accommodation of orphans and children remaining without parental care, have addressed for help to human rights activists. The pupils stand in defence of Mamkhegova, Liudmila Kerimovna, dismissed deputy director for pupils' life-support.
In their appeal, the graduates of the boarding school No. 5 state that they had been deeply shocked by the "cynical dismissal" of Ms Mamkhegova, manager of the children's home. In December 2008, they addressed President of the of Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) Arsen Kanokov and all power structures of the Republic with a request to clear out the reasons of dismissal of the person, who is dear to them, and who gave 20 years of her life to raising children-orphans.
In response to the letter "director and his retinue" have assured the graduates "that if they refute their signatures under the letter and evidence against Liudmila Mamkhegova, they will be helped in solving their pressing problems. In particular, they were allowed to stay and receive nutrition in the boarding school during vacations at absence of vacant beds, which earlier was categorically forbidden by the director," runs the application.
The letter was signed by ten persons, who gave the numbers of their cellular telephones.
We remind you that the check by the KBR Prosecutor's Office of the boarding school No. 5 in Nartan village revealed roughest violations of the legislation on accommodation of orphans and children remaining without parental care.
Following the recommendations of the Ministry, director of the boarding school Alisultan Alishanov dismissed Liudmila Mamkhegova, deputy director for pupils' life-support (manager of the children's home) and suggested Marina Barieva, head of the teaching department, to get dismissed "at her own will".
In her comments on the situation, Liudmila Mamkhegova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that in the recent decade the moral and psychological climate in the boarding school was quite unhealthy. It happened mainly because her conflicts and disagreements with the director of the boarding school Alishanov. According to her version, the reason was in Alishanov's style and methods of work, and his actions against the interests of children-orphans, to what she tried to object.
Director of the boarding school Alisultan Alishanov has confirmed, in his talk to the correspondent, the fact of his long-lasting conflict with his deputy Mamkhegova. According to his version, the reason of Mamkhegova's dismissal was her disrespect of him and her actual refusal to obey him.
