Azerbaijani MIA studies two versions of exploding "Abu-Bekr" Mosque

According to updated information, as a result of explosion in "Abu-Bekr" Mosque located in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, two believers were lost and 13 more were wounded. Seven are still in hospital, two of them in heavy condition. The law enforcers examine different versions, including a terror act and personal vengeance.

The ITAR-TASS reports, with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan that after the incident the Baku police are now in the strengthened service mode, search the unknown person(s) who committed the explosion.

The Day.Az reports that the explosion in the Mosque killed Vagif Abdullaev, born in 1955. The second victim has not been identified yet.

It is reported that among the wounded persons are Sakhib Khasyev (born in 1976), Rashad Dzhamalov (born in 1985), Dashgyn Ibragimov (born in 1984), Rashad Ismailov (born in 1984), Vugar Salakhov (born in 1983) and Ruslan Safaraliev (born in 1982).

We remind you that in the evening on August 17 in Baku, an armed attack was accomplished on the Mosque "Abu-Bekr". At about 9:00 p.m. local time, an unknown person threw a grenade from the street into the mosque window.

At that time, the mosque was holding the evening namaz (pray) with about 100 persons present.

According to the general opinion, the "Abu-Bekr" Mosque is mainly attended by Wahhabites; however, the believers themselves deny their belonging to the Wahhabi trend of Islam.
