Badrudi, Sulim Yamadaev's brother, can be charged anew

A native of Chechnya who is now living in Moscow accuses Badrudi Yamadaev - brother of the commander of the "Vostok" battalion - of kidnapping and extortion.

A spokesman of the Investigatory Department for Chechnya of the Investigatory Committee of Russian Prosecutor's Office has reported: "A native of Chechnya, who is currently living in Moscow, has addressed the Investigatory Department for Chechnya with assertions that Badrudi Yamadaev, brother of Sulim Yamadaev, commander of the 'Vostok', was illegally detaining him in the city of Gudermes from January 3 to January 18, 2007."

Badrudi Yamadaev who is now searched is already accused of kidnapping and murdering Yunus and Yusup Arsamakovs and Vakha Magomadov.

"The applicant also says that during his violent detention he was periodically beaten and was released only after paying 2 million roubles of ransom," the spokesman said, as quoted by RIA "Novosti", and added that Department employees are now checking the application.
