Regular Tbilisi-Moscow flight takes off from Georgia
Today, after a break of 18 months, a direct Tbilisi-Moscow regular flight has taken off from Georgia. Thus, the air traffic between Russia and Georgia that was interrupted in the autumn of 2006 has restarted.
The first aircraft to arrive to Domodedovo Moscow's airport from Tbilisi will be a "Boeing-737-500" of the "Airzena - Georgian Airlines".
According to representatives of the airline, which will now make daily evening flights between the two countries, the first Tbilisi-Moscow flight was practically sold out.
Today, Sergey Ivanov, First Vice-Premier of Russia, has stated that any accusations that Russia had once introduced a transport blockade against Georgia have nothing to do with reality.
According to his version, Georgia will finally settle its debts to Russian airlines by the end of this year.
We remind you that today the air traffic between Georgia and Russia that was interrupted in 2006 has resumed. By the end of this week, the Georgia-Russia marine traffic will also restart.
