People in Volgograd Region are indignant with release of the murderer of Gipsies in Ulyanovsk Region

At night on February 26, in the village of Ignatovka, Mainovskiy District, Ulyanovsk Region, two villagers committed a murder of a Gipsy aged 24 and his daughter of 18 months. On February 26, the killers were detained, and they pled guilty. However, three days later one of them was released, said Elena Konstantinova, head of the Volgograd Regional Public Organization "Congress of Romany Women". She added that once now at large the suspect is directly threatening the members of the Gipsy community.

"You Gipsies, when you sleep, we'll burn you all down," this was the threat of the murderer, as Ms Konstantinova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"The Gipsies are all in panic, for their illiteracy, they do not know where to address," Elena Konstantinova said. "They telephone to our organization and ask to protect their families from arbitrariness."

"If such a crime were committed by Gipsy nationals, they would be never set free. We see obvious double standards here," the lady-human rights activist is indignant. "And what is the name for this negligence of law enforcement bodies?"
