Blogger Guzenko arrested in Stavropol Territory

A court in Stavropol has arrested Yegor Guzenko, a blogger, who is a suspect in a criminal case on the use of violence against a state official, for two months.

On October 5, Guzenko, who criticized Russian authorities and Apti Alaudinov, the head of the "Akhmat" special unit, was detained in the town of Novopavlovsk. He had earlier been put on the wanted list after leaving for the special military operation (SMO) zone from house arrest on charges of hooliganism.

Telegram channels gave different versions of Guzenko's detention. The "Mash" reported that he "attacked policemen with his fists" in response to a request to remove his mask during the City Day celebration. According to the "Baza", Guzenko was detained under the drug use article due to his refusal to undergo a medical examination.

The RIA "Novosti" reports, citing the press service of the Stavropol Territory courts, that during interrogation, the detainee refused to testify. Besides, he is on the federal wanted list on charges of hooliganism; on October 20, 2021, a court in Saint Petersburg sentenced him for two months of house arrest.
