Two law enforcers detained in connection with Djabrailov's death at police station
Investigators have detained two patrol-and-post officers in connection with the death of Akhmed Djabrailov, a participants in the special military operation (SMO), on July 9, at in the Sovietsky police station in Makhachkala, Shamil Khadulaev, the head of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of Dagestan, has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21, the sister of Akhmed Djabrailov, who died after being tortured at the Makhachkala police station, said that his parents were demanding that all law enforcers involved in torturing him be punished. Public outcry helped to initiate an investigation and arrest one of the law enforcers, Mr Khadulaev has informed.
Akhmed Djabrailov, a fighter of the "Akhmat" special unit, who was detained for disturbing the public order, died on July 9 at the police station. On July 27, Shamil Khadulaev posted video from surveillance cameras installed in the police station and stated that law enforcers "wittingly or unwittingly" were involved in Djabrailov's death. According to investigators, a law enforcer beat Djabrailov up and used a stun gun on him, as well as pressed him down with his weight, which led to the death of the detainee as a result of strangulation.
