MIA refuses to confirm Kevin Lik's release

Kevin Lik's conviction has not been expunged, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Adygea has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 28, 2023, Kevin Lik from Maykop, a citizen of Germany and Russia, was sentenced to four years on charges of treason. On August 1, 2024, Lik and 15 other convicts, including Oleg Orlov* and others, were released as part of a prisoner exchange with Western countries. The transfer from the colony to the airport for the exchange occurred suddenly, and before that, law enforcers offered to write a pardon petition, Kevin Lik has explained.

On August 9, Kevin Lik requested a certificate of no criminal record from the MIA in connection with the presidential pardon. "Today, I've received a certificate stating that the conviction has not been expunged and – attention – there is no information about my release," Ilya Yashin reported in his X microblog.

"If there's no information about my release, then I have practically 'escaped' from jail," Kevin Lik wrote in his Telegram channel.
