Krasnodar Territory: court releases OMON fighters who have beaten tourists

Today, the Lazarevskoe District Court has released from custody three out of seven OMON officers accused of beating tourists in summer of 2006 in the city of Sochi (Krasnodar Territory).

Following the ruling of the Krasnodar Territorial Court, the District Court has changed the freedom restriction measure for militiaman-driver Vladimir Zabeivorota, militiaman-fighter Alexander Ezirskiy and militiaman-fighter Alexei Petrenko into the recognizance not to leave, having satisfied the petition of their defenders, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The next judicial session on the case of the OMON officers accused of beating tourists, is appointed on October 23, Nikolai Shakhovalov, one of the victims' advocates, has informed the YUGA.ru web portal.
