Three children of Nina Tseretilova return to Dagestan

In Kaliningrad, a court has upheld the refusal to limit parental rights of Nina Tseretilova, but after the court’s decision, she herself offered to return the children to her husband’s relatives in Dagestan, a children’s grandfather states.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in March 2021, the court granted a request of a woman from Dagestan for custody of the children, and on July 16, the court limited the parental rights of the children’s father, from whom the mother was divorced. In October of the same year, the children were handed over to their mother. After the children refused to live with their mother, they were placed in a rehabilitation centre and their father’s relatives demanded custody of them. According to the relatives’ version, Nina Tseretilova rejected an agreement that would allow her to retain her parental rights and allow her children live with their grandparents in Dagestan.

The story of 33-year-old Nina Tseretilova became public in November 2020, when a documentary about Muslim women from Dagestan was released. In the documentary, the woman said that a judge decided to leave her children with their father, considering her behaviour and appearance, in particular, piercings and tattoos, “immoral.” During her marriage, Nina Tseretilova was subjected to beatings.

On April 11, the Kaliningrad Regional Court upheld the decision of the first instance court and refused to limit the parental rights of Nina Tseretilova. “After that, her daughter gave an ultimatum that if they didn’t listen to her, she would run away from the orphanage and ruin everyone’s life. A week passed, and Nina herself proposed a truce and said that she would let the children go to Dagestan,” said a family friend.

The woman notes that all relatives in Dagestan happily accepted the children. Nina Tseretilova remains the children’s only legal representative.

Magomed Tseretilov, the children’s father, still stays in Turkey. The man has been put on the wanted list for intentional damage to other people’s property because he broke a Nina Tseretilova’s mobile phone. In addition, Magomed Tseretilov is accused of malicious evasion of alimony payments.
