Wheelchair user from Poltavskaya fined for calling for protests
Law enforcers brought seriously ill activist Yuri Trubachyov to court, where he was fined 15,000 roubles due to his participation in a video against a landfill.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that activists of the “Poltavskaya against the landfill” movement teamed up with the “Green Stanitsa”, a local organization created in 2022, to participate in trial on lawsuits to close the landfill in the village of Poltavskaya.
In the Krasnodar Territory, residents of the village of Poltavskaya have repeatedly held protests demanding the elimination of the local landfill. On April 6, the police dispersed the activists who had been blocking the passage of garbage trucks through the village during 24 hours, reported activist Natalia Garyaeva. The villagers also complained that they were injured when the trucks started moving at the direction of a police inspector. On April 7, wheelchair user Yuri Trubachyov held a picket with the demand to close the landfill: he blocked the passage of garbage trucks, obtaining a promise from the police to find out the circumstances in which his fellow villagers suffered.
The police detained Yuri Trubachyov and brought him to court. One of the policemen took Yuri Trubachyov to court; and near the courthouse, the activist felt ill and needed oxygen, as follows from the video posted on the “Poltavskaya against the landfill” Telegram channel.
A lawyer reported that Yuri Trubachyov was brought to justice for organizing mass events without a sanction from the authorities.
