Lawyer requests MoD to intervene in mobilized Znamensk resident’s case
A military unit stationed in Volgograd refuses to dismiss a mobilized resident of Znamensk, who was recognized unfit for the military service by a military medical commission and a court. A lawyer has appealed to the court with a request to involve the Russian Minister of Defence (MoD) in the consideration of the mobilized Znamensk resident’s case.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that after being recognized unfit for the military service by a military medical commission in August, Sergei S., a native of the Astrakhan Region, filed a lawsuit for compensation of 10 million roubles for moral damage.
Sergei S. repeatedly avoided being sent to the special military operation (SMO) zone, declaring the illegality of his conscription without passing a medical commission. The man reported that he suffered from a number of illnesses, including mental disorders, associated with alcoholism.
Sergei Krivenko*, the head of the “Citizen.Army.Right”* group, notes that the Volgograd military unit is “trying to throw off the problem.” The human rights defender advised Sergei S. to file complaints to the military prosecutor’s office and the administration of the Southern Military District.
*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
