Bagomedov brothers complain about torture in Dagestan
Law enforcers tortured Mukhtar and Magomedrasul Bagomedov brothers, who were arrested in Makhachkala, to force them to confess to making explosives, their mother Gulnara Bagomedova complains.
According to the woman, in June, the police detained 29-year-old Mukhtar and 27-year-old Magomedrasul, and for several days, their relatives were not aware of their whereabouts. Then Mukhtar got in touch and said that law enforcers were torturing them to force them to incriminate themselves.
“Mukhtar said that he would not confess to what he did not do. And, unfortunately, the younger brother could not stand torture and signed a confession to a crime,” said Gulnara Bagomedova as quoted by the “Kavkaz.Realii”*.
Advocate Sapiyat Magomedova intends to file a motion for appointment of a medical examination of the brothers. The advocate notes that the Bagomedov brothers are involved in a criminal case on an explosion in an apartment in Makhachkala, where, according to the investigators’ version, they tried to make an explosive. In addition to the Bagomedov brothers, another resident of Makhachkala is also involved in the same criminal case.
