Citizen of Ukraine arrested in Sochi apologizes for her posts in social network

Svetlana Matukhnova, a citizen of Ukraine living in Sochi, has apologized for her words about Russians posted in a social network. Five days ago, the court arrested her for eight days, finding her guilty of inciting hatred.

According to the police, the woman was also accused of publicly displaying paraphernalia or symbols of extremist organizations.

A video of Matukhnova's apology was posted by the "OPER slil" (operative agent has leaked data) Telegram channel, presumably associated with law enforcement bodies, the "Kavkaz.Realii"** project reports. It is known that earlier Svetlana was arrested twice for speaking out in support of Ukraine.

"I want to apologize to the Russian people and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for publicly insulting them in the Instagram social network. I have been living in the city of Sochi for more than six years. I don't treat the Russian nation or Russians as bad people; they are quite sane and good persons. I pledge not to make such posts any more; and at this difficult time for our countries, I would only like to support the people," the woman in the video pronounces.

The court has noted that "Matukhnova's repentance was a mitigating circumstance."
