Court sentences to imprisonment participant of protest action against mobilization in Makhachkala
Adam Gadjiev was sentenced to one and a half years of imprisonment in a case on the use of violence against a public officer during protests against mobilization in Makhachkala.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 25 and 26, 2022, large-scale protest actions against mobilization took place in Makhachkala, which ended in mass detentions. At least 148 people were found guilty of administrative violations of the procedure for holding public events. A protocol on disorderly conduct was drawn up against Adam Gadjiev. At least 20 criminal cases have been filed against the protestors for violence against police officers, the “Human Rights Watch” (HRW) reported.
Adam Gadjiev, a participant of a protest action against mobilization, was sentenced to a year and a half of imprisonment in the case on the use of non-life-threatening violence against a public officer, the human rights project “OVD-Info”* reported with reference to a press officer of the Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala.
The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that the court sentenced Gafar Isaev, a participant of the protest action against mobilization in Makhachkala, to two years of suspended imprisonment, finding him guilty of using violence against a law enforcer.
