Followers of “At Takfir Val-Hijra”* detained in Dagestan

Six followers of the “At Takfir Val-Hijra”* organization were detained in Dagestan, Moscow, and Voronezh, and “religious books of extremist content” were confiscated from them during a search, the FSB Department for Moscow and the Moscow Region reported.

According to the law enforcers’ version, the FSB identified residents of the Moscow Region, who “were holding gatherings and disseminating the teachings of the extremist organization, recruiting and involving new followers in it.” A criminal case was instituted against the suspects under the article on participation in the activities of an extremist organization.

The FSB also reported that during the searches at the place of the suspects’ residence, religious books with extremist content, as well as “other items testifying to the adherence of the suspects to radical trends of religion,” had been found.

*The organization is recognized as extremist by the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia, and its activities in the country are prohibited.
