Pashinyan's opponents call on Yerevan townspeople to rally before extraordinary parliament session

For June 3, the opposition has initiated a parliamentary session on the critical issues of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. On the same day, the "Resistance" movement gathers its supporters in France Place.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 30, the police reported 111 detainees at the rally held in front of the government building in Yerevan. Oppositionists claimed that policemen had used excessive force. On May 31, the "Resistance" movement held a rally in Yerevan, during which oppositional MPs demanded an appointment at the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) and a number of ministries, but the bosses thereof refused to meet them.

Ishkhan Sagatelyan, a Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament from the "Aiastan" opposition bloc, has stated on the Facebook* that "the 'Resistance' movement is approaching an important stage; therefore, the fight should continue until the power is completely disbanded.

He has added that on June 3, oppositional MPs will come to the session of the Armenian Parliament.

"The parliamentary majority will have a chance to free themselves from the shameful moral obligation to surrender the country to enemies and liquidate the statehood. They can still separate themselves from Pashinyan," Mr Sagatelyan has stated.

Let us note here that the oppositional "Resistance" movement continues blocking France Square. Tents are set up there; and activists stay in them overnight.
