Participants of large-scale action in Nagorno-Karabakh support Armenian protesters
On the occasion of the First Republic Day, solidarity actions with protesters against Armenian authorities were held in the cities of Stepanakert and Martuni. The action in Stepanakert was over 10,000 strong, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.
The Armenian opposition has been holding protests from April 25. Due to the authorities' mediocre policy, a part of Karabakh has been lost; and there is a threat to the rest of the homeland, Armen Rustamyan, a local MP, has stated.
On May 28, on the occasion of the First Armenian Republic Day, and in support of the "Resistance" movement in Armenia, peaceful marches and rallies were held in Stepanakert and Martuni. They were organized by the opposition parties of the Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament – "Justice" and ARF "Dashnaktsutyun". The MPs from the Democratic Party of Nagorno-Karabakh have joined them.
The participants in the action in Stepanakert, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, have stated that they support the demand for the resignation of the Armenian government, which threatens the security of Armenia and Karabakh.
Lilit Airapetyan has stated that she is participating in the action because she believes that "people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) deserve peace and independence."
In the opinion of Nune Airapetyan, "after the 2020 war, the authorities of the two Armenian republics had to resign." "The capitulators must leave ... I will fight for new figures to come – smart and educated people," she has stated.
