Six persons detained at a protest action of students in Yerevan
Activists of a youth movement held a rally in Yerevan, calling on students to join the opposition protests. Six persons were detained and charged with failure to obey law enforcers, the police reported.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding rallies, marches and motor rallies, demanding not to admit a change of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh and resignation of Nikol Pashinyan's government.
Today, the “Voice of Youth” initiative group has held a disobedience action in the universities of Yerevan, calling on students to join the protest movement, reports the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent, who watched the live broadcast from the place of the protest action on the page of the initiative group.
In particular, participants of the protest action marched along the corridors of the Yerevan State University and the Yerevan Medical University, holding in their hands the flags of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and calling on students to strike.
After leaving the medical university, the activists blocked the intersection in front of the university. The protesters sat on the roadway and lit flares. The protest action did not last long: the police pushed the protesters off the roadway and detained several activists, including Ovannes Arutyunyan, the founder of the youth movement.
Six activists were detained, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was informed by Zarzand Gabrielyan, the chief of the Media Relations Department of the Armenian police.
