Experts find no extremism in Abdulmumin Gadjiev's articles

Linguists have analyzed 26 texts by the Dagestani journalist, Abdulmumin Gadjiev, accused of financing terrorism, and found no signs of extremism there, Arsen Shabanov, an advocate, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at the session held on March 31, Gadjiev's advocate asked the court to add the linguists' conclusion about the examination of Gadjiev's articles to the case files; the court agreed to do it.

Abdulmumin Gadjiev is accused within the case of financing terrorism. His colleagues treat his prosecution as pressure on him.

The defence has organized a linguistic examination of all the 26 Gadjiev's publications cited in the indictment, Mr Shabanov has explained. The experts concluded that there was no extremism in these texts, on which the prosecution insisted. The conclusion itself was conducted by federal experts and is written in 150 pages," the advocate has added.

Arsen Shabanov said that each of the 26 Gadjiev's texts was studied by two experts, one of whom was interrogated directly in the courtroom. "He [the expert], having been warned about criminal liability, has confirmed [the conclusions of the examination]," said the advocate.

Let us remind you that Dagestani journalists are regularly holding solo pickets in the central Makhachkala in support of Abdulmumin Gadjiev.
