Shepherd killed in shell explosion in Azerbaijan

Ismail Mikailov, a resident of Azerbaijan, died from injuries which he got in a cluster bomb explosion while grazing cattle in the Karabakh conflict zone.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that people are regularly killed and injured in mine explosions in the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan after the 2020 Karabakh war. Since November 10, 2020, seven militaries and 29 civilians were killed as a result of mine explosions, and 110 militaries and 45 civilians were injured, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan reported on January 19.

On the evening of February 1, Ismail Mikailov, a resident of the Kelbadjar District, who got numerous shrapnel wounds during a mine explosion, died in the Yevlakh District, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent has been informed today by an official from the regional prosecutor’s office.

According to the prosecutors’ information, Ismail Mikailov died during agricultural work from the injuries he got as a result of an explosion of a cluster bomb remained in the ground since the 2020 war. Ismail Mikailov was injured in the explosion while grazing cattle, an official from the Yevlakh District administration explained to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
